Birmingham is the largest, most populated city outside of London.
Widely regarded as the birthplace of UK heavy metal, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Led Zepplin all hail from Birmingham. More recently, artists like The Streets and Laura Mvula have added diversity to its musical heritage.
Birmingham is also an epicentre for sport. Edgbaston Cricket Ground is the biggest after Lords and hosts climactic test and one day internationals.
The city also has strong associations with golf, with two major courses lying on its outskirts, as well as tennis: the AEGON Classic is played annually at the Edgbaston Priory Club.
